Shredder: The Jigsaw Chronicles
Quick answer: Shredder is a free jigsaw puzzle game in your browser. You reassemble original heavy-metal tour posters cut into 16, 36, 64 or 100 interlocking pieces. Nothing to install, no account, no purchases, no tracking. Made by Design Delight Studio in Boston.
What it is
Twenty-four original posters for fictional bands, drawn in the style of three eras of heavy metal: 1990s thrash and death metal, 2000s nu-metal and groove, and 2010s djent and progressive metal. Every band, venue and tour is invented; no real band names, logos or album art appear anywhere.
Each poster is a gig. Pick a setlist (16, 36, 64 or 100 pieces), drag pieces from the staging dock onto the table, and snap them together. Adjacent pieces lock into clusters that move as one. A ghost outline of the poster and grid lines can be toggled as assists. Finishing a gig earns Respect; faster finishes earn up to three stars; Respect unlocks the remaining posters in each era.
Hardcore mode spawns every piece rotated by a multiple of 90 degrees; pieces must be turned upright before they lock, and the gig pays a 50 percent bonus. The Forge turns your own photos into puzzles: choose a file, crop it, apply one of four screen-print filters, and play. The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How to play
- Open this page. The tour archive appears in seconds; nothing to install.
- Pick an era and a poster, then a setlist size. Optionally turn on Hardcore.
- Tap a piece in the dock to stage it, or press Stage Edges to lay out the border.
- Drag pieces together. Neighbors snap into clusters; a cluster near its true position locks to the board.
- Finish the poster to earn Respect and stars, then unlock the next tour date.
Free, and private
The game costs nothing and tracks nothing: no analytics, no ad network, no account, no third-party trackers. The only outside host the page talks to is our own store's image CDN, for the optional merch cards. Progress is saved in your own browser. The only promotions are optional, clearly labelled links to Design Delight Studio, the Boston maker of organic apparel that built it; they never appear on the puzzle board and never interrupt play. Browsing the shop is the whole business model.

Do I need to download or install anything?
No. The game runs in a web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. On a phone you can optionally add it to your home screen to play fullscreen.
Does the game track me or collect my data?
No. There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising network and no third-party trackers. Progress is saved only in your own browser, and photos used in the Forge never leave your device.
Are these real bands?
No. All 24 posters are original artwork for fictional bands, venues and tours drawn in the style of three eras of heavy metal. No real band names, logos, lyrics or album art appear.
How many pieces can a puzzle have?
Each poster plays at 16, 36, 64 or 100 pieces. The two larger setlists play best on a tablet or desktop screen.
What is Hardcore mode?
Pieces spawn rotated by multiples of 90 degrees and must be turned upright before they lock. Finishing a gig in Hardcore pays a 50 percent Respect bonus.
Can I make a puzzle from my own photo?
Yes. The Forge lets you choose a photo, crop it, apply one of four screen-print filters and play it at any setlist size. The image is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.
How is my progress saved?
Automatically, in your own browser: unlocked posters, star records and an in-progress gig you can resume. Nothing is sent anywhere.
